Tropical storm Fay

Tropical storm Fay struck the United States at about 21:00 GMT on 23 August. Data supplied by the US National Hurricane Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 30.6 N, 86.3 W. Fay brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 74 km/h (46 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
