Typhoon Fung-wong

Typhoon Fung-wong struck China as a tropical storm at about 12:00 GMT on 28 July. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 25.1 N, 119.8 E. Fung-wong brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 111 km/h (69 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher.
